House Sitter in Manassas, Virginia

I am fairly new to the Northern Virginia area. I came here in 2013, after loosing my mother to cancer and helping my sister clean up the estate property. I am retired and single with two children and four grandchildren, all adults; plus three great grandchildren. I have my own car and I drive myself to my engagements and appointments. I was raised in Montana, spent six years in Texas, 25 years in southern California and eight years in Colorado. I have traveled to many places, including 30 of the United States, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Europe, Japan, Taiwan , the Philippines, Haiti, Guatemala, and Cuba. My main activities during the day are crocheting, working on the computer, and reading - favorite genres are Science Fiction, Biographies, and Fantasy. I listen to audio books and have recently signed up for an online college class to improve my editing skills. Last year I finished working with a friend to edit and self-publish her book. I write and take amateur digital photographs. I have an Associate of Arts degree in art and work mostly with fabric and water color. I don’t watch a lot of TV but enjoy listening to music, mostly instrumental - classical, jazz and contemporary Christian. I play piano and some guitar. At present I stay with my son and daughter-in-law and spend a lot of my days caring for their two Brussels Griffons. I feed them, walk them, and put them out in the yard when necessary. I am active in my church and am now leading the music ministry. I enjoy art and recently spent a day at the National Art Gallery in Washington DC with my family. Since I was a child pets have been part of my life. I have mainly had dogs and cats in my homes. Dog sizes have ranged from a 120 pound chocolate lab to a 10 pound Brussels Griffon with many in between sizes. Cats have been strays, Pure Siamese, Angora and Gingers. I have been a house sitter for friends and family here in Virginia which included companionship for an 80 plus mostly mobile lady at one place and oversight of the 11 and 16 year old children at another.
