House Sitter in Captain Cook, Hawaii

Hello, About Me: I am Serina, a lifeguard and student from Vancouver, Canada. I have enjoyed my last three years as a lifeguard and swim instructor, and now look forward to gaining new experiences with different work from around the globe. I am leaving Vancouver this August to travel to Hawaii, Southeast Asia, and Australia! I enjoy exploring new places and talking to people from around the world. Gaining insight on different perspectives, values and cultures fascinate me and enhance my understanding of life. I also enjoy hiking, swimming, running, scuba diving, and exploring this world in any way I can :) I am an easygoing, fun-loving person, with a deep love and respect for nature. I believe new experiences expand yourself as a person and are necessary for self-growth and recognition. I am interested in all aspects of language and culture, and would be happy to exchange my knowledge and learn about yours too! I am Canadian and Japanese, and can speak limited French. I hope to speak many, many languages one day. Experience: My friend is the owner of an AirBnB, which I often help maintain and clean. My jobs as a lifeguard, barista, retail worker and barn worker have all involved maintenance and cleaning tasks in many different environments, including cleaning pools, bathrooms, changerooms, kitchens, dishes, outdoors and yards. These experiences also have enhanced my organizational skills. I will gladly do the laundry, fold, iron, etc. as well as maintain the house. I also have experience pet sitting dogs, cats, and birds, whom I love taking care of! Other applicable skills/ passions: I specialize in child care/ childminding, with about 300 volunteer hours with children. I am also a proficient cook (I have been making meals for myself/ cooking for my family at a young age), caretaker, cleaner and efficient with any form of general maintenance. I am very hardworking and work well independently and in teams so supervision is of no particular concern. I like to put in my best effort to help anyone in any way that I can! I have been a lifeguard, swim instructor, and lifesaving instructor the past three years, with the following qualifications: • SFA & CPR-C certified •Occupational First Aid: Level 3 • Emergency Medical Responder •Lifesaving Instructor •Water Safety Instructor • National Lifeguard: Pool, Waterpark and Waterfront These experiences enhanced my leadership and interpersonal skills, and have exposed me to high-intensity situations. My values of hard work, kindness and honesty are reflections of what I have learned. I am also physically fit (I ran my first marathon at seventeen) and really enjoy the outdoors. To be a waterfront lifeguard there are very competitive physical standards, so labor/manual work is something I do not mind being challenged by- I am happy to help.
