House Sitter in Sequim, Washington

I'm an
Individual
We are a mid-thirties couple who are both currently in career transitions. Finding ourselves in this unique moment without debt, children, or pets, we have chosen to take some time to write, think, and travel while we apply to graduate schools and consider where we want to create our next home. It feels almost like a temporary retirement :) Kim grew up in rural New Hampshire with a wide variety of animals- dogs, horses, cats, rabbits, birds of all sizes- and cannot really conceive of 'family' without pets. At the age of ten she started her first pet-sitting business and happily spent all her time outside of school in the company of animals, taking the most joy from mucking stalls in exchange for riding lessons. After studying literature in college, she gravitated towards organic agriculture, working for the next twelve years first as an apprentice and then as a manager on a range of diversified farms from Connecticut to California. While she focused mainly on vegetable production, she also raised cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, and chickens. Some of her favorite times on the farm have been the winter months and the special weeks alone with the animals while everyone else took their vacations. Conor was raised in suburban Northern Illinois, and his first childhood work experiences were caring for neighbor's pets, manicuring lawns, and shoveling snow. Since then Conor has traveled the world, walked the entire Pacific Crest Trail, and performed well in a variety of careers, from land surveyor to sous chef. After completing a Masters in Education, Conor spent nearly four years (2012-'15) working for the Office of Student Support and Safety in Baltimore City Public Schools, before deciding to pursue an interest in organic agriculture full time. Conor enjoys keeping a fastidiously tidy home, and has often been asked to house/pet sit for neighbors who have valued his caring, reliable and trustworthy character. We bring responsibility, maturity, and confident capability to our role as house sitters. We enjoy being active in the outdoors but otherwise lead a quiet lifestyle. Our intention is to keep your home clean and quiet and to keep your animals happy and loved.
