House Sitter in Duncan, British Columbia

I am from the UK and have come to Canada to see the forests, mountains and lakes. I enjoy spending my time immersed in a particular place and that is why I'm looking for a home. I have house sat for various friends before and think people would describe me as loyal, thoughtful and caring. I am looking to stay in one place and get to know it. I like getting to know the local culture around me and also want to spend time working out what I want to do after this trip. I feel like I need a base but I'm not ready to go home yet. I am practical - I can use hand tools and do basic DIY. I'm the kind of person that will do a job if I see it needs to be done but am also very respectful of other peoples homes. I have been travelling using a site called workaday for 8 months where I have been volunteering my time in exchange for room and board. I have had some brilliant exchanges doing this but am now ready for my own space. I am comfortable with animals if you need pets to be looked after and gardening is also a passion of mine. I like to be in nature and I enjoy spending time reading and writing. I don't have a Canadian sim but I can call you via Skype for a proper chat.
