House Sitter in Bellingham, Washington

Reliable family seeks house sit or "mother-in-law" affordable rental. We are available to house sit and safeguard your home while you vacation. We own our home on Lummi Island, but need to be in town during the school year so that our 17 year old son can have access to Arne Hanna Aquatic Center 2 times a day. Our son is a competitive swimmer, but cannot make his 5:30 am practice times because the first ferry doesn't leave until 5:40 am. We have been successfully housesitting throughout his high school career and need only one more month of "town life" until graduation! Sam will attend UC Santa Cruz in the fall (unless he gets a better offer) where he will study Oceanography and continue to swim at the college level. In return for the careful use of your home, we are happy to care for your yard, house plants, pets and provide home security and upkeep. We have lived in Whatcom County for 26 years and can provide references. I am the Library Media Specialist at Wade King School. My husband is a carpenter at Kaiser Woodworks in Ferndale. Our son is a senior at Sehome High School and swims for Bellingham Bay Swim Team. We are members of Congregation Beth Israel. Our current house sit ends May 15. We can be flexible with starting and ending house-sitting dates. Can we help each other out?
