House Sitter in Cedar Key, Florida

I'm an
Individual
I am a retired elementary teacher, Master’s degree in elementary education, National Board Certified Teacher 2002, 49 years old, married 25 years, 2 daughters in college living at home working summer jobs. My volunteer work includes: Lung Cancer Alliance Secretary for the Kentuckiana Chapter, Brandenburg United Methodist Church, West Point United Methodist Church, Water for the World, Upward Basketball, Humana Hospital Southwest, YMCA Southwest Louisville, Habitat for Humanity, Camp Loucon, and March of Dimes. You can trust me to be vigilant about maintaining the security of your home and the safety of your pets. All doors will be locked, even during the day, and certainly when I leave the house. I keep a daily written journal for you to keep about what happens each day. I will also text you with daily updates and pictures. My 2010 Chrysler Town & Country van has proven to be very reliable transportation. My husband and girls are holding down the fort in Kentucky. I also have two independent adult step-daughters and three step-grandchildren. If you prefer a couple, my husband works from home. He can pack up his laptop and join me if needed. I taught school for 15 years, I lifeguarded as a teen and grew up maintaining my family’s inground pool. I have several reasons to house sit. The first reason is I want to move to Florida. Before I do, I want to be able to spend time in the communities and check out the different areas. I want to find the perfect house for my family. The second reason is I am overweight and have fibromyalgia. Swimming is the best exercise for me. The swim season is much longer or even year round in Florida. So ideally, I’d like to house sit somewhere with a pool. My final reason to house sit is to escape the KY winters. The winter months are cold, gray, rainy and snowy. I will house sit for FREE for locations with a pool and hopefully close to a beach. I’ve needed a change of scenery for a long time. I just finished up my first house sit in Niceville, Florida that lasted just over one month. I cared for two sweet medium sized dogs, a pool, yard, trash, recycling, mail collection and daily cleaning. The homeowner, a female soldier, returned to a home cooked meal, flowers and chocolate. It was bittersweet leaving. I have grown to love the dogs and made several friends there. While there I remained in almost daily contact with the homeowner. I sent her pics of mail that looked important, pics of her dogs, and her crystal clear pool. Needless to say, the homeowner and I have become friends. I am currently on my second house sit in Cedar Key. There is a precious, timid cat that I am caring for while maintaining the home. I arrived two days early so the homeowners and I could get to know each other and show me around. They are a very sweet and kind couple. I’m loving life as a modern day hobo, lol! I am a Christian, understanding and very empathetic. I will care for your home and pets to the best of my ability.

Melissa is very friendly and sweet. I met her house sitting and walked the owners dogs with her. Every time I came over the house was nice and clean. I could tell when she vacuumed and cleaned up the yard. She even brought her leaf blower! The pups were always happy and taken care of. Lots of love there! She’s very laid back and flexible. Also, responsible and cares about the home. I can tell she wants it to be just right when the owner returns and cares.
