Hello, my name is Anna. I hope you're day is going well. I'm searching for a housesitter position. First, let me tell you a bit about myself: I’m of French-Irish descent, but American born so no need of sponsorship, well-educated, trustworthy, and just moved to Texas. I’m currently searching for a position in my field of accounting, and in the meantime, I need something to stay busy, perhaps earn a bit of money, and allow me to write my resumes and applications. I have two degrees, a BS in Accounting and my MBA, and also have my CPA license, but I specialize in not-for-profits, healthcare and higher education. Sort of my calling. I was married for 20 years and raised two wonderful children in beautiful homes which I enjoyed decorating and cleaning. I know what a home means to me, and to you. It’s not just a home; it’s also the cherished things you’ve collected over the years, your children’s “works of art” and their framed photos, family heirlooms you may display, crystal, silver pieces, artwork, furniture you spent sooo long to find so it would be perfect. I’m not a materialistic person at all, in fact I once read: Keep nothing that is not beautiful, useful, or loved. I live by this. And this is why our belongings are so precious to us. Whether you’re a family leaving for a vacation or a business person who travels often, either way, you want someone at your home who respects it, and your belongings; that would be me. You can also expect me to respect your privacy while you’re away. I would never go into rooms you don’t want me to go into, or look into drawers and such. It’s funny, I used to stay over at a friend’s and when they left earlier than me for work and left me in their home, I would just do the dishes from dinner the night before, finish getting ready for work, lock up and leave. I remember thinking one day, with the three children, how did they keep that totally white bathroom absolutely spotless? Later I thought, oh, they probably had another bathroom, probably one from that hall thru one of the doors in the hall. But I’d never opened any of the doors, I’d not been invited to, so I’ve no idea. That’s the kind of person I am. It wasn’t my business to open doors I didn’t need to go into. It’s a matter of respect. As to safety: I’m also very much aware of the dangers that lurk in every neighborhood, even the most lovely ones, and know to watch and listen to my surroundings for signs of trouble in order to protect a home, the pets if they are there, and myself. I’m an intelligent woman; I don’t open doors to strangers no matter what their story is, or people who claim to know you. And I don’t use social media. I’m amazed at what people share with complete strangers, so you won’t find me posting that I’m housesitting for “Mr.” or “Ms.” while they’re away, inviting problems. As to cleanliness, I’m an extremely hygienic person, and prefer to keep my surroundings (and your surroundings) orderly and sanitary. Lastly, I didn’t check criminal background check because I don’t work for an agency but you’re welcome to run one if you’ve decided to hire me. Also, as a state licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), if you decide I’m a match at the interview, I can provide a copy of my licensure and the website address of that state’s Board of Accountancy where you can look me up by name and address to verify this if you like. So if you are considering the need to have someone intelligent, respectful, and careful of your home and belongings, will protect it and what it holds, I hope you’ll consider me for this important job.
