My name is Adam and I am a veterinarian. I am traveling with my wife, Jaime. We both love animals, food, the outdoors, and spending time in new places. We are a professional, responsible, and trustworthy non-smoking couple who, after our beloved dog left us a few years ago, have decided to leave our home in Asheville, NC and have now embarked on an undefined period of travel. We lead a healthy lifestyle and we welcome the opportunity to live in rural or challenging locations. After graduating from veterinary school at the University of Wisconsin, I practiced in the state of Oregon before relocating to the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina in 1999. From that point on we have traveled to Mexico (many times), Argentina, Chile, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, Costa Rica, South East Asia, and more. Because of our extensive experience with house and pet sitting (and owning our own home) I feel that we can provide a wealth of skills and knowledge, all of which will enable us to competently care for your home and animals wherever you live. And since I am a veterinarian, I can administer medications and supervise diet and offer medical needs with extra special care. My wife and I currently work together as self employed professional documentary filmmakers (mostly humanitarian work) spending a good deal of our time working from home with an internet connection. I also created and organize a large online global film festival that I work on remotely. Because of this independence, we've been caring for other people's homes and pets off and on for more than a decade. We are available to stay for weeks and months at a time. We can take care of your house plants, mail, and any small problems that may arise while you are away. In addition to keeping your home safe and secure, we take care of your belongings as if they were our own. We’ve been part of a pet sitting service in the US since 2013 where dogs come to our home for long term stays. We love new experiences, and we love animals. We also enjoy slow travel which has given us the opportunity to immerse ourselves into new areas and cultures - and live like a local. Our freelance projects often require that we find a base from which to complete our work, and we have found that house sitting sometimes offers us a wonderful retreat from life on the road. House sitting works great for us since, as sitters, we are able to meet new people all along the way and develop new friendships. We enjoy learning new languages. We also find joy in welcoming a home owner back from their trip knowing that their home is clean, their sheets are freshly washed and their animals have been well taken care of and are happy and healthy. Being a doctor of Veterinary medicine, and an owner of 2 happy dogs and 2 cats in the past, I feel that I am a great asset to anyone needing a live-in pet sitter. I understand when you're pet may need help and can administer medications if necessary. Also, because we've owned our own home now for over 15 years, we are both knowledgeable with home maintenance and repairs. Our professional and caring nature will bring any home owner peace of mind. When leaving your property and pets in our care you can be sure that we will maintain it to an exceptional standard and take great care of your possessions as if they were our own.
