I have lived and worked in Dutch Harbor Alaska for 20 years as a stevedore. I ran all sorts of equipment like crane forklift, and loader, but most of my time i was a operation supervisor tasked with meeting with the fishing vessels and making a plan with them for there offload of fish. Logistics were huge since the customer had multiple Destinations for there product. They sent fish to Imjuden netherlands, Bayside canada, pusan, korea, japan, china and many more including the usa. As you see lots of moving parts. I would man the crews for the job, go over customer instructions with the gang boss (runs the job for me) to make sure everything goes to the right place on the planet. I was tasked with keeping track of inventory and making receipts for the customer weather it went into cold storage, Sipping containers, freezer ship etc. There would be multiple jobs going on at the same time so being a forward thinker was a must. seeing possible problem before they happen and avoid the problem all together. I was in charge of taking care of multiple millions of dollars in product for the customer. In a way it is like sitting for people. i would be in charge of taking care of you belongings for you while you are not there and doing it at a high level to make sure the customer is happy. I worked with these companys for so long they became like family And we take care of family. That is how i would treat everything when it comes to you..... you might ask why is he doing this. well in nov. of 2012 i was badly injured on the job. I had a 100 b man lid on a freezer ship come loose and land on my head doing Damage to my neck and back. So i went through years of treatment. Knowing i couldnt do what i have done in the past So after some years not working because of my injury. I came across sitting and thought well this is something i could do and do well.
