Who I am: I have been providing house-sitting services to families for 4 years. In my professional life, I am a marriage and family therapist intern working in community mental health with at-risk youth, and am also a youth minister on Sunday mornings. What that means for you as someone who is looking for a house-sitter, is that I have been screened and passed Department of Justice and FBI background checks, meaning that I am safe and you can trust me to take good care of your home. I enjoy house-sitting for others because it gives me a chance to meet new people (I have become good friends with many of the individuals and families that I house-sit for), I get to see and experience other parts of the community, and the extra money I make helps me to pay off my student loans. What I provide: In addition to staying at your home to make sure it's safe, I also take care of your plants, bring in mail/newspapers, am happy to run small errands that you may need done while you are away, as well as meet any service people that you may need to have access to your home. In addition, I am delighted to feed and care for any pets you may have, including administering any medication, taking dogs to the dog park, beach or on walks as you request and accommodating any special needs your pet may have. I'm great with animals (have been pet-sitting for close to 15 years) and take great pride in the excellent service I provide for you and your pets. I'm happy to send updates (and pics of your pets, if you'd like) while you're away, so you can be assured that all is well on the home front. I believe that your time away should be worry-free with regard to the state of things at your home, and that your return home should be stressless as well. When you return home, you will find your home in the same condition as when you left. If you provide me with a small grocery list, I'm happy to pick up groceries for you so that you return home without the additional stress of having to make a run to the grocery store or market. What I'm looking for: I'm looking for house-sitting opportunities throughout the Los Angeles area, including into Glendale, Pasadena, La Crescenta area, San Fernando Valley, and am open to locations in Calabasas, Thousand Oaks, and Simi Valley areas. I prefer clear instructions and expectations to make sure I am meeting your needs, and if there are any errands you need me to run, I require any cash needed to complete those errands ahead of time to cover the cost of the errand (grocery money, money to pay for dry cleaning bill, etc.) I look forward to hearing from you and taking care of your home!
